Building the Intelligence Layer for Community-Scale Mobility
Cart IoT is creating the connected platform that makes charging smarter, simpler, and more reliable, starting with golf carts and expanding across micro-mobility.

Built from experience
Roy Johnson spent nearly a decade as a volunteer firefighter and EMT. He knows exactly what unattended charging equipment can do, and he lives in a community where a golf cart is the family's second car. Looking at how carts charge, he saw the gap: vehicles plugged in every night through equipment with no intelligence at all.
His career is embedded systems and security. He served on the boards of the Connectivity Standards Alliance, creators of Zigbee and Matter, and the FiRa Consortium, helping shape how connected devices work together. He brought that depth to a category nobody had connected.
The result is the Cart IoT Platform, and CHARGER SAFETY, its first device. It installs in about five minutes, puts the cart online, and handles charging on its own.
Where We Are Going
We are starting with golf carts. We are building for all of micro-mobility.
Golf Carts Today
Close to 2 million golf carts in the U.S.*, most charging with no intelligence. We reach them through our dealer network.
Micro-Mobility Tomorrow
The same platform fits e-bikes, scooters, and LSVs as the market grows.
The Platform Vision
Every charger in every community, connected.
* Estimate based on multiple industry market research reports. No official government registration database exists for golf carts, as most are not titled vehicles. Published estimates range from 1.2 to 2.5 million units depending on methodology and inclusion criteria.
